Analysis of a Claimed Reptilian Interview from 1999–2000
What Are the Lacerta Files?
The Lacerta Files are a set of two interview transcripts that allegedly document conversations between a human interviewer and a non-human reptilian being named Lacerta. The interviews are said to have taken place in southern Sweden on December 16, 1999 and April 23, 2000, respectively. The transcripts gained attention through internet circulation in the early 2000s, first in German and later translated into multiple languages, including English.
It is important to note that the English version is a translated and edited adaptation of the original material, which was reportedly spoken in Swedish and first transcribed into German. As a result, the English translation may contain inaccurate expressions, awkward phrasing, or ambiguous terminology due to linguistic limitations, interpretive errors, or cultural differences. Readers should consider these factors when evaluating the clarity and coherence of the interview content.
The identity of the interviewer is listed only as “Ole K.”, and no full name, institutional affiliation, or recordings have been made available. The conversations were allegedly recorded on cassette tapes and later transcribed. However, no audio evidence has ever been released, and the authenticity of the interaction remains unverified.
The first known circulation occurred in German-language UFO forums and publications circa 2000, often accompanied by a disclaimer that only “shortened parts” of the full interviews were published. English translations were later made available online and have since been widely distributed in PDF and text formats.
While the interviews are said to have been conducted in Swedish, no original Swedish transcript is known to exist in public archives. The most frequently cited source of the early publication is a now-defunct website, sabon.org, which reportedly hosted the interviews. However, these pages are no longer available, and no preserved archive has been found.
Who is Lacerta?
Lacerta states that her species is not extraterrestrial, but terrestrial in origin, evolving on Earth over 65 million years ago. According to her account, her ancestors survived the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event by retreating underground, where they developed isolated civilizations shielded from surface events.
She further claims that humanity’s current understanding of prehistoric life is flawed. Specifically, she states that many fossil reconstructions, such as those of the Iguanodon, are inaccurate, and that some extinct reptilian species were more intelligent and varied than modern science acknowledges. According to the transcript, reconstructions based on limited fossil evidence have led to distorted depictions of ancient reptilian life.
“What you call dinosaurs, especially the Iguanodon, are not what you believe. You reconstructed them incorrectly. They had intelligence.”

She claims that the appearance of her species throughout ancient human cultures has been misinterpreted, leading to myths about serpent gods, demons, and underworld beings. These, she explains, are distorted remnants of early human–reptilian encounters.
“We did not come from the stars. This planet was ours long before humans existed. We evolved here.”

Appearance & Physiology
Lacerta provides a technical description of her physical form, which differs significantly from humans. She describes her body as cold-blooded, approximately 1.6 meters in height, with green-beige scaly skin, a non-prehensile tail, and three primary fingers with claw-like nails. Her eyes are almond-shaped, lacking external pupils, and include a nictitating membrane for environmental protection.
“Our skin is mostly of a greenish-beige color… We have some patterns of brown spots on it.”

Internally, she describes biological systems adapted to subterranean life, including a three-chambered heart, selective metabolic control, and the ability to enter hibernation-like states when required.
“We are able to control our heartbeat and our body temperature by our will. Our physical strength is higher than yours, even if we are smaller.”
— Interview II (2000)
Lacerta also describes several physiological traits adapted for subterranean life. Her skin is said to be highly resilient, with a fine scale structure that regulates moisture and protects against fungal or bacterial exposure common in underground ecosystems. She states that her species does not require high levels of ultraviolet light and has evolved to function efficiently in low-light or infrared-visible environments. According to her, their muscular and skeletal systems are denser than those of humans, contributing to greater physical strength despite smaller stature. She also refers to an enhanced ability to regulate metabolic activity and enter suspended physiological states during periods of low activity or in response to environmental pressure.
Technology
The Lacerta Files describe a variety of technological capabilities reportedly developed by her species, many of which operate on principles currently unknown or unexplored in modern human science. These include applications in transportation, perception, material manipulation, and time awareness.
Lacerta repeatedly emphasizes that human understanding of gravity is fundamentally incomplete, describing it not only as a force but as a multidimensional field that can be directed and altered. She refers to the use of gravitational field control systems, which serve both for propulsion and for maintaining structural equilibrium in subterranean environments. These systems are said to enable movement without inertia and energy generation without combustion.
She also describes the use of bio-holographic projection technology, which does not render the user physically invisible but rather interferes with the observer’s visual perception and cognitive recognition. According to Lacerta, the technology works by subtly influencing neural interpretation, causing the human brain to disregard or filter out the presence of her kind.
“You don’t see us because your mind is told not to. It’s not invisibility. It’s induced ignorance.”
— Interview II
Another technological system involves the manipulation of matter through resonance frequency tools. These devices allegedly allow for temporary alteration of the density or structure of physical objects by aligning with their molecular or atomic resonance. This process permits controlled interaction with otherwise solid materials or surfaces.
In regard to time, Lacerta states that her species possesses a limited ability to perceive and operate within non-linear temporal frameworks. She refers to time as a series of concurrent streams, rather than a singular linear sequence. Communication and analysis within this framework is said to involve perception of multiple outcomes or timelines, though the process is not described in operational detail.
“Time is like a river with many branches. You swim in one. We can feel others.”
— Interview II
Many of these technologies are said to be controlled not through mechanical interfaces, but via neurological synchronization, with the user's biological signals interacting directly with the device. This suggests an integration of cognitive function with machinery, requiring trained individuals or compatible neural structures to operate the systems effectively.
Lacerta repeatedly suggests that these capabilities remain inaccessible to human researchers due to foundational gaps in physics, particularly in the understanding of gravity, consciousness, and the structure of matter.
“Your science is blind. Gravity is the key to everything. You use it, but you don’t understand it.”
— Interview I
Social Behavior
Lacerta describes her species as operating under a hierarchical but decentralized societal model, with regional sovereignty maintained by different subterranean enclaves. These communities are governed by elders or scientific councils, rather than militaristic authority. Decisions are often made through consensus-based logic rather than emotional or ideological debate, which she notes as a contrast to human sociopolitical behaviour.
The reptilian society is structured around principles of ancestral memory, genetic purity, and environmental equilibrium. While there is a shared origin and culture, Lacerta acknowledges the existence of factional disagreements, particularly regarding their degree of interaction with surface humanity. Some groups remain strictly isolationist, whereas others pursue observation, manipulation, or covert influence.
"We do not allow randomness in development. Our offspring are not raised by chance but by method. Each one is observed and shaped with purpose."
— Interview II (2000)
Lacerta notes that emotional expression in her species is far more subdued than in humans. Communication is primarily telepathic or symbolic, minimizing misinterpretation. Social bonds exist, but loyalty is aligned more with species continuity and knowledge preservation than with personal attachment.
This system, she implies, has enabled her species to maintain internal cohesion for millennia, though not without ideological tensions, particularly regarding the ethical implications of remaining hidden while observing the rise and volatility of human civilizations.
“There are others. Some who do not follow the old laws. Some who walk among you for their own purpose. I do not support them.”
— Interview II
This document is presented for reference and research purposes. No audio recording, photograph, or scientific validation has been produced to support the claims within the Lacerta Files. While internally consistent and detailed, the content should be regarded as unverified.
