End of the "de minimis" exemption

Why are there new shipping fees for U.S. orders from Canada?
Recently, the U.S. government changed its customs rules and removed what was called the “de minimis” exemption.
    •    Before (up to Aug 2025): If you ordered something under $800 USD from outside the U.S., it usually arrived without customs duties or extra fees.
    •    Now (after Aug 2025): The U.S. has decided that all imports — no matter how small — are subject to duties and processing fees. This change applies to orders from Canada and every other country.
In simple terms: it was a government decision by U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP), and all businesses that ship into the U.S. are affected.

Who gets this money?
These are not our fees. They go to:
    •    U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP): duties and processing fees (government charges).
    •    Shipping carriers/brokers (UPS, FedEx, etc.): a small service fee for handling customs paperwork.

How does this affect my order?
The good news is we ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). That means:
    •    All duties and fees are calculated at checkout.
    •    We handle the customs process for you.
    •    You won’t get a surprise bill from UPS or FedEx when your package arrives.
What you see at checkout = the final price you pay.

Why does the checkout total look higher than before?
Because the U.S. now requires duties and fees on every order, the final checkout price includes those charges. We’ve kept things transparent by showing you the true landed cost upfront instead of letting couriers bill you later.

Bottom line
We know this isn’t ideal — and we’re truly sorry these extra costs exist. Unfortunately, it’s not something we control; it’s a decision made by the U.S. government.
Our promise: we’ll keep working to find the most affordable shipping options so you continue to get the best value possible.
